Information about the pottery you see here - These pottery pieces are made of stoneware clay which has been glazed. They are microwave, freezer, dishwasher and oven and food safe. These pieces are all handmade with the use of a wheel and or slabs (flat rolled out clay) and tools. They are very durable and are fired in a kiln at a high temperature making them very strong and vitreous. The stem-less wine/beer tumblers can be put into the freezer before putting a beverage in them and they will be nice and cold. The mugs and pitchers are microwavable, perfect for tea steeping, the only part which gets hot is the liquid inside, not the handles.

The platters you see are made using a slab or rolled out flat piece of clay which is formed and then painted with colored clay paint called slip. After the slip has dried beyond the sticky stage you can carve into the clay and through the layer of slip allowing the color of the clay underneath to show. The piece is then let to dry and bisque fired and then glazed and refired another time at a higher temperature. The goblets you see are constructed with a combination of hand made pieces which are sometimes stamped or carved along with wheel thrown pieces which are all put together once they have hardened enough to handle without being distorted. For a goblet there are three parts the vessel which holds the liquid; the stem and the foot or base.
