Enrichment, skills, and endless fun is our goal!
Join a mini session class with friends and family members in a totally fun and supportive environment. Whether you have experience or not you will find yourself immersed in an enriching and creative place full of excitement. Classes are small (6-8 max) and include lots of hands on help. Classes run continually except holidays and are six weeks long.
Friends, family, neighbors, scouts and team building groups spend time together making their own project and each leave with their handmade unique piece. Projects can be suggested, or ideas you may have. This is a great activity for families during the holidays when everyone is around and visiting and wants to have some fun creating.

Lynn Hoffman is not only an extraordinary ceramicist, but a master teacher as well. Her knowledge of technique, style, artist history, and current trends in the field of ceramics, both of the wheel and handbuilt pieces, allow her to guide students of all levels to strengthen their skills and expanded their conceptual awareness of what clay can be and do. Personally speaking, Lynn has guided my progression on the wheel from barely being able to throw a single mug to being able to replicated entire sets of dinnerware. Her patience and always charming demeanor creates a fun and exciting atmostphere. I cannot reccommend her and her courses enough to anyone of any age or skill set. - Kenneth Cramer - Education major, Temple University. Teacher, Lewis Elementary School, Philadelphia
“I have really enjoyed taking classes with Lynn. Not only is she a great instructor who is extremely knowledgeable and creative but she is friendly, approachable, helpful and very patient. No matter what your idea might be she does her best to help you make it a reality”. – Nancy Matlack. Technology Teacher Leader, Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander University of Pennsylvania Partnership School, Penn Alexander School
“I've always admired Lynn Hoffmann's work. When the opportunity arose to take a class with her, I jumped on it. I had never done pottery before and she skillfully guided me to make several small dishes, a planter that fits perfectly on my window sill, some decorative wall hangings, even beads that I've made into jewelry. I highly recommend Lynn as a teacher. She's knowledgeable, patient and guides her students to make pieces that fit their own style and needs.” – Lynn Caldwell–Marketing Specialist
"The past 10 months, it has been such a pleasure learning from Lynn at Hand and Wheel. Lynn is not only is an excellent teacher of technique, but she inspires us to look beyond the conventional to see tools and patterns in nature that can be used to create beautiful and functional pieces of art. Starting as a complete novice, Lynn has helped me become comfortable on the wheel and confidence to try bigger and more advanced projects. I especially enjoy our class time, everyone is so personable at Hand and Wheel. Lynn brings together fun creative people, that enjoy sharing ideas, and then she helps us bring those ideas to fruition." – Beth McFadden Marquard – Ambler, PA
"I began taking pottery classes with Lynn in Jan of 2013. I always loved pottery and was looking for something to nurture my creative side and get a bit of “me” time in my busy life with 3 kids. I am so happy I started...now I can’t stop! Clay therapy has become a healthy addiction for me. Lynn is not only a talented artist herself, but she has been so great at teaching the art of hand building and throwing to all skill levels. She is patient, yet has forced me out of my comfort zone, allowing me to take chances with my work. I have seen a growth in my pottery skills and get to have an evening/morning out, having fun in her awesome home studio. Once in a while people will bring food in their own clay pieces which is so fun!" – Liz Lee - Oreland
